Create a data capture form to collect information about houses and justify the use of an electronic database. Create the database and make some changes then evaluate the use of coding.
- Badminton Club (iwChameleon)
Create a database of members for the Badminton Club. Search for people in particular locations based on when they can play. Describe the advantages of coding information.
- Meadow View Holiday Homes (D Edge)
Create a database of visitors to Meadow View. This task covers all aspects relating to databases in the current AQA Specification.
- Film Database (J Grundy)
Create a database of films showing at the cinema. Interrogate the database and write a memo explaining the advantages to the cinema of using a web site.
- Airport Database (G Martin)
This task offers a huge, yet simple, database to interrogate. Simple searches plus multiple field search. Look out for the error in the last task. Pupils must identify this, solve the problem and report back on how they achieved it. The worksheet and data file are supplied in a zip archive.
- Access Database & Mail Merge (D McAleer)
This is a simple guide with lots of screen shots showing how to 'capture' data and then use the resulting database plus Word to mail merge some labels. Could be used with students or it's ideal if you want to learn how to do it yourself. The screen shots don't look too good on screen but when printed they are fine. Note: provided in a zip file this is still quite a large file and will take a couple of minutes to download.
