  1. Input Devices (iwChameleon)
An input device is a piece of hardware that enables data to be passed into a computer system. Some of these devices are controlled manually, such as a mouse, other input systems are automated. These information sheets look at both kinds of systems.
  2. Internet Hardware (M Price)
A short presentation to aid in the introduction of the hardware requirements for Internet access.
  3. PowerPoint Presentation Software (S M Levy)
A useful lesson guiding students through the composition of a slideshow. Using Design Templates, inserting clipart, inserting slides, animation effects etc.
  4. Networks (iwChameleon)
A brief description of networks(types, advantages, disadvantages). This can be used as the focus for a discussion. There is a teacher sheet showing all information plus a student copy with gaps to be filled in during/after discussion thus re-enforcing the content.
  5. Desktop Publishing (iwChameleon)
This is a single sheet outlining the uses and advantages of DTP. It has been obvious from the answers that students have given in the past that they get confused between databases and DTP. This sheet is suitable to use as part of a discussion or as a reminder of the important points relating to the use of DTP.
  6. Input, Storage, Output (iwChameleon)
A little homework sheet sorting out a list of devices into lists for input, storage and output.
  7. Internet Research (J Grundy)
Fancy a long weekend in Amsterdam? Then let your students see the commercial uses of the Internet and at the same time they can get you the info on flights, accommodation etc. Good one!
  8. Travel Arrangements (G Martin)
I like this. A memo from the MD to his PA to organise a trip to Chicago. Flights, hotel booking, theatre and taxi. Excellent for showing ways in which the internet can be used when travelling.
  9. Travelling to NYC (G Martin)
Another research task. Use the internet to plan a trip to NYC. Provides more opportunities for students to see the potential of e-commerce on the web.
  10. Learning Powerpoint (G Martin)
This is a big file (lots of screen shots + images and sound file required) showing how to create a simple presentation. Ideal if you want to learn the basics.
