Most web browsers come free and are easy to install. Many resources on the web require the later versions of these browsers. Indeed, all of the new exercises posted on the student revision site will require this later software.
This follows on from the guidelines and recommendations of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and my aim is to try and produce pages that will be compliant with the current (2003) W3C standards. However, these standards are only supported by the current generation of browsers (IE6, Mozilla 1.x, Netscape 7, Opera 7.2, Firefox, Safari, etc.) Older browsers are not compliant with these standards and will, increasing, only be used by a minority of surfers to access the net.
